The Academy Day

Our doors open for school at 8.40am. On occasions children may be invited in to school from 8.30am for additional intervention time. Our lessons begin at 8.40am although the classroom doors open at 8.40am for morning activities. The school day is from 8.40am to 3:15pm, and children are required to be in school for the whole of this time – a total of 32 hours and 15 minutes across the whole week. Breakfast and after-school clubs are additional and optional.

Break times

Morning break is from 10:45 to 11am

Lunchtime is from 12:00 to 1:00pm (EYFS and KS1) and 12:15 to 1:15pm (KS2)

Afternoon pick-up times

At the end of the school day, pupils should be collected and leave the school site promptly.

  • Parents collecting EYFS  children should pick up from the Wrens entrance through the main school pedestrian gate at 3:15pm
  • All other parents should enter by the double gates into the playground which will be opened at 3:10pm and can collect their children from the playground or outside the classroom doors.

If you wish your child to be collected from school by an adult who is not on their list of contacts, you MUST inform the school in writing . An email to info@qma.clf.uk is absolutely fine.

Please note that we only allow Year 6 pupils to walk home unaccompanied. Written parental permission is required.

Wherever possible, please arrange for your child to be collected by somebody aged 18 or over. If absolutely necessary, children may be collected by an older sibling aged 16 or 17 if the child’s parent or carer has given written permission in advance. Children may not be collected by anyone under the age of 16.
